The Americans Are Coming - Real Bedford vs Kings Langley Preview
It’s a huge weekend ahead in Bedford. Our new co-owners — US billionaire investors Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss — are flying in to watch their first Real Bedford match. And it's not just any game: a win secures the league title.
We’re taking on Kings Langley at The Ledger Stadium as part of the annual CheatCode weekend. This event, hosted by our Chairman, brings Bitcoiners from around the world to Bedford for two things: a deep dive into Bitcoin and a proper football match.
Standing in the way of a perfect weekend? 17th-placed Kings Langley — the last team to take points off The Pirates back on December 17th.
Kick-off is at 3:00 PM, but there’s plenty happening before then. We’ve got a pizza truck serving free, freshly made pizzas (while stocks last), plus exclusive Gemini x Real Bedford merch — free for fans attending the game.
We’ll also have a BBQ firing up hotdogs, burgers, and more, plus beers on tap featuring all your favourite BrewPoint brews. It’s going to be a special day — don’t miss it.
CheatCode Event
On Friday 11th April, the CheatCode Bitcoin conference returns to the Corn Exchange in Bedford. After launching in Bedford last year and heading to Sydney in October 2024, the event is back where it all began.
Speakers include Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, former Prime Minister Liz Truss, and our Chairman, Peter McCormack. Topics on the table: the future of Bitcoin, counter-culture movements, and the role of football in driving change.
The full speaker lineup is available now on the CheatCode website.
Opposition Preview
It’s been another incredible season for Rob Sinclair’s side, with just two losses in 36 league games. One of those rare defeats came against this Saturday’s opponents, Kings Langley. The Pirates had taken a first-half lead through Tom Hitchcock, but the hosts mounted a comeback to snatch a surprise 3-2 win.
Since that upset, Kings Langley have struggled — winning just two of their last 17 matches — and now sit 17th in the table, just two spots above the relegation zone.
Title Permutations
Real Bedford can secure the league title this Saturday under the following scenarios:
Win – The title is ours.
Draw – If Berkhamsted fail to beat North Leigh, we’re champions.
Lose – If Berkhamsted also fail to win against North Leigh, we still take the title.
Supporter Information
Supporters can purchase tickets for the match on the day, and online here. You can also buy a CheatCode ticket for the whole weekend, giving you entry to the Conference on Friday, the match on Saturday and the women’s fixture against London Seaward on Sunday.

Chairman’s Thoughts
“It honestly feels like the stars have aligned. Our investors have been desperate to come over and experience a game — and now their very first could be the one where we lift the league title. It’s surreal.
What makes it even more special is that our women’s team could also secure their title on Sunday. Both teams are on the brink of something so big, in the same weekend, is just incredible.
This season has been long, intense, and full of hard work from everyone involved. We’ve poured everything into it. If things go our way, by Sunday night we could be celebrating not one, but two league titles.
Up the Pirates.”
