April In Review

Real Bedford produced a record breaking month in April, with over 3,500 people heading through the McMullen Park turnstiles, a record investment announced for the club, as well as three trophies across the two senior sides.

League and Cup Successes
Real Bedford Men’s produced back to back League and Cup doubles as The Pirates rounded off their season in style. Having won a well fought league by 5 points on the penultimate match day, whilst also clinching a tight 3-2 win in their League Cup Final against Cockfosters, Rob Sinclair’s men have managed to replicate the success of last campaign. Real Bedford Ladies have also continued the success over the course of the month. The Pirates secured their place in the National League with a win against Luton on Sunday, confirming their League title win against the local rivals. Watch highlights from the game here.

Cheatcode Conference
Club Chairman, Peter McCormack hosted the inaugral Cheatcode conference in the heart of Bedford this month. Over 500+ travelled to the town from all over the world to hear from leading speakers in the world of Bitcoin and wider economic issues. Many then travelled to McMullen Park the following day to watch The Pirates face Tring Athletic with events carrying on into the night. Record Crowds
Over 1,000 fans packed out McMullen Park on Saturday 13th April as Real Bedford faced Tring Athletic in a crucial league clash. With over 500 local fans accompanying those who had travelled from all over the world for the Cheatcode conference, the home of Real Bedford was filled with fans from far and wide supporting Bedford’s up and coming sports team.

Investment Announcement
At Cheatcode, Peter McCormack announced a record-breaking $4.5m investment from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss as they became co-owners of the club alongside McCormack. The story picked up international recognition, as Real Bedford became the talk of the footballing world throughout April.

Goals galore!
It wasn’t just the action off the field that impressed however, both senior teams bagged 24 goals between them across the month of April, including 6-0 and 4-0 scorelines in league action for both teams. You can watch back all the best moments here.

Real Bedford Ladies continue their season into May with a League Cup and County Cup Final on the horizon, with the possibility of a treble still on the cards.
