The first game of the competitive season for Real Bedford came on a warm Tuesday evening back in August. With 362 fans packing out the ground, Joey Evans scored his first of many crucial goals for The Pirates late on to seal the win on the opening day for Rob Sinclair’s side.

Real Bedford Vs FC Clacton (4-1)

Just a week on from the league win over MK Irish, FC Clacton made the trip cross county to Real Bedford for McMullen Park’s first FA Cup game in decades. Having drawn on the road three days prior, The Pirates produced a monumental response, including a spectacular opening goal from Charlie Smith.

Real Bedford Vs Potton United (3-1)

A towering header towards the end of the first half from defender Ollie Swain gave McMullen Park a lot to cheer about in the opening 45 minutes under the lights.

Real Bedford Vs Cockfosters (2-1)

Just days after Archie Jones’ heroics against Cockfosters at the end of 2023, the sides met once more under the lights at McMullen Park in a Gladwish Challenge Trophy game. This time it was the brilliance of Joey Evans who bagged a brace to secure the win for Rob Sinclair’s men marking a positive start to 2024.
