Statement on Ladies First Team Manager - Steve Worrell

Real Bedford Ladies FC announces departure of First Team Manager Steve Worrell.

The club did not take this decision lightly. The 2022-2023 season was a mixture of highs and lows for the team. While the ladies finished at the bottom of the league, they narrowly missed out on winning the County Cup Final, losing to Luton Ladies on penalties.

The entire Real Bedford family is grateful for Steve's contributions to the team. His wealth of experience and knowledge has guided the players over the past year. We thank Steve for his commitment and wish him the best in his future endeavours.

As we move forward, we aim to strengthen the bond between our men's and ladies' teams, creating a unified force within the club. Our ambition is to match the success of our men's team and challenge for the league titles.

While parting ways with a manager is never easy, it is the right time for Real Bedford Ladies as the club embarks on a rebuilding phase.

Real Bedford Chairman, Peter McCormack, said: "This was a tough decision for the club because Steve is a man of integrity and has worked hard to bring new ideas to the ladies squad. However, with a big season ahead, we believe now is the right time to change manager. On behalf of everyone at the club, I want to thank Steve for his hard work and wish him the best for the future."

Real Bedford Ladies FC is now seeking applications for the first team manager position. We invite interested individuals to contact Peter McCormack at peter@realbedford.com.
