Real Bedford overcome Wroxham on Easter Sunday
3 goals before the break were more than enough to see off the Yachtswomen at McMullen Park last Sunday, in front of the Real Bedford Livestream cameras for the very first time.
It didn’t take long for The Pirates to get on the score sheet, a long ball from Zara Carroll in the midfield found its way over to Cesca Partridge who beat the keeper to it, knocking it past Williams and slotting it into a vacant net.
Moments later though, Wroxham responded. A great ball found top scorer Hannah Fuller who tucked it past Hudson to get the game back level inside 15 minutes.
Real Bedford regained the lead on the half-hour mark. A floated corner ball from Milliken was met with a great volley from Zara Carroll who smashed it into the bottom right to put her side back in front once more.
Bedford continued to turn the screw just before the break, Gemma Croucher laid off a pass to Tash Fensome just inside the Wroxham penalty area. Bedford’s top scorer found the tightest of angles squeezing it past Williams at the near post to extend the lead heading into the break.
Second Half
Real Bedford found their cherry on top moments into the second half, another great delivery from Lisa Milliken off set piece fell to replacement Georgie Giddings. Having only been on the pitch for a matter of moments, Giddings managed to get a touch on the ball to bag her goal and put Real Bedford in the driving seat.
The hosts managed to see out the rest of the game, with chances falling to Bedford throughout the second half. However, the score remained as it was, recording a 15th straight league victory for Real Bedford Ladies in what is turning out to be a fantastic campaign.
These two sides will meet again in May in the League Cup Final. The Pirates play their next league match at home on Sunday, with the game live stream here.
