Real Bedford Ladies are held to a draw against Royston

A second-half comeback from The Pirates saw Real Bedford share the points for the first time this campaign.

Bedford came into the match knowing a win partnered with dropped points from Luton Town would confirm their promotion hopes and see them walk away with the Eastern Region Women’s Football League trophy at the end of the campaign.

Under the Wednesday Night Lights, Royston struck early with a goal inside the opening few minutes to shock Real Bedford. Lilly Allen got past Sarah Hudson within seconds of the opening whistle to put the visitors on the back foot.

Second Half

Real Bedford then struck back early inside the first half, this time it was a goal from Cesca Partridge that evened up the scoring. The Pirates then pushed for a winner with multiple chances falling to Fensome and Partridge but the deadlock wasn’t broken throughout the remaining 40 minutes.

Despite the draw, Real Bedford can confirm their league victory on Sunday against Luton Town in an almighty clash at McMullen Park.
