Luke Knight Departs Real Bedford

Real Bedford can confirm that club captain Luke Knight will leave the club following the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.

Having captained the club since it’s inception back in July 2022, Knight has gone on to play over 75 games for The Pirates across the last two years.

Having applied his trade in both midfield and defence, Knight has lifted 4 trophies across his tenure at the club including back-to-back promotions from Step 6 to Step 4.

On leaving Real Bedford, Knight said:

“It’s tough to depart what has been such a special club for me and my family, but having spoken with Rob and Mark, it seems the right time to move on. It’s been two seasons of football I won’t forget, the crazy unbeaten runs, 4 trophies as well as the enjoyment that came with every training session and game, it’s been a pleasure to captain this club.”

Rob Sinclair gave praise to Knight for his efforts at McMullen Park:

“Luke has lead the group incredibly well over the last two seasons and has been a great servant to the club. His character will be missed around McMullen Park but his departure is for the benefit of his career as he is keen to leave on a high note. He will be missed, and we wish him well with his next venture and I hope he continues to be successful like he has been throughout his career so far.”

We wish Luke all the best for the next chapter of his footballing career.
