Brett Longden Joins Real Bedford

Real Bedford can confirm defender Brett Longden has signed for the club from Biggleswade Town.

With recent spells at AFC Dunstable, Bedford Town and Biggleswade Town. Longden started his career in the Luton Town academy with loan spells to various clubs around the region.

With a wealth of experience already under his belt, Longden can apply his trade across the defensive line. Making him a valuable asset within Rob Sinclair’s squad.

On signing for The Pirates, Longden said:

“I’ve spoken with Rob for the last 2 years and now felt like the right time now to get involved with the project here. The way of playing and overall aspirations of the club both excite me. I know most of the lads here which makes it an easy transition. I’m looking forward to kicking on and pushing for the league title.”

Having played with Longden during his on-field career, Sinclair was pleased to bring Brett into the fold at McMullen Park:

“I’ve known Brett a long time and he is exactly the type of character I want to have in the dressing room. He knows most of the squad well already and will slot in seamlessly into the group. His experience speaks for itself, he’s been successful at many clubs and can play in a multitude of positions. I’m looking forward to working with him as we push towards the business end of the season.”

Longden will be available for selection with immediate effect. With The Pirates set to face up against Dunstable Town in the second round of the League Cup tomorrow afternoon.

We wish Brett all the best during his time here with The Pirates.
